Have lived in the Salt Lake area for 35 years and just went in this theater for the first time. I've been to so much live theater and don't really enjoy it anymore but this is a place you must visit at least once before you kick the bucket. I had NO idea how fun the interior is. Kind of like Knotts Berry Farm but cleaner and more clever. The show was dorky and corny but that is what this place does. I was especially impressed by the talent of the cast and the energy they put into their performances. They could all sing, dance and "act". True performers and worthy of appreciation and support.

We love coming here! We have never been disappointed in the entertainment, and always leave laughing about something that was in the show. The reason I have it only 4 stars is there could be some improvement to the food. I realize the main attraction is the show, but we've had issues with the food the last two times we've been. For example, my husband ordered a smoothie and it had huge chunks of ice in it.

We do like the Desert Star , but they have a few problems that they need to fix. First is the audio, the shows are good and funny but sometimes it's really hard to hear what the actors are saying. I think the issue is that the music is louder than the actors microphone. You may be thinking "how old is this guy??" I'm in my 20's so it's not my hearing. The second issue is the seating. It is so crammed! We got season tickets for the first time and on our first show I had a drink spilled on me because there isn't enough room between the tables, also they really need more tables for just 2 people. Who wants to sit with a couple they don't know?? Other than that the shows are funny, actors are great, and the foods pretty good too.

Amazing time. The service was great. Food is average but the best part is the show. Couldn't stop laughing and smiling. The talent is the tops. I love it when they improv. My wife bought season tickets after the first show.

My husband and I have received season tickets to Desert Star Playhouse from our Children for Christmas 2 years now. We have enjoyed every minute of them! We take different friends with us each time we go. We now have several friends who have bought tickets since. We usually eat dinner why watching the play. We have tried a variety of things on the menu and have never been disappointed. Although they are not speedy delivering the food. The only thing I do not like is that the tables and chairs are so close together. Seems way too close. The actors all do a great job. The spoofs are hilarious and they don’t just pick on one area of Utah. They hit all of us which makes it even funnier. We always look forward to our nights at Desert Star.
