History

Center Stage Playhouse was founded in 1969 by Anthony Della Rocca and a group of his friends who had grown up in the Bronx. They decided that their borough deserved a Broadway-quality theater with ticket prices that anyone could afford, as well as  artistic opportunities for members of the community.  Starting with its first production in 1969, Beauty and the Beast, Center Stage Playhouse has done just that.
