In 1995, a dedicated group of individuals led by former Chaska High School teacher Jan Baker teamed up to form a community theater with a special mission - To provide audiences a high quality, live theater experience featuring local talent, with an emphasis on family involvement - and Chaska Valley Family Theatre was formed. Since that first production of "Annie," held at the old Chaska High School "Co-op" Theater, CVFT has produced dozens of performances that have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of patrons. Using a variety of talented local directors, CVFT currently produces several shows each season. While remaining true to our core offering of American musical theater, CVFT has continued to expand our traditional base by partnering with local civic organizations for special events, producing occaisional dramatic works, and by creating opportunities for local writers to produce new works through our Writer's Playground and New Production Workshops.
