Mission Statement:
We are a theatre company committed to quality and innovative dramatic art. We celebrate diversity through readings, discussions, and dramatic productions; enabling actors and audiences to recognize and explore their deeper and truer natures.
History:
Whole Art Theater Company was founded in 1976 by German immigrant Werner Krigelstein, who wanted to offer theatre to rural communities. Since its beginnings in the small town of Lawrence, Whole Art has moved to the Old Whistle Stop building in Kalamazoo, the corner of Locust and Vine, the Park Trades Center, and, in 1996, to our present location on the north end of the Kalamazoo Mall. Over the years the theatre has grown and changed in many ways, but always with the intent of offering unique theatrical experiences to both its audiences and its actors.
