Christiana residents and visitors have likely noticed bright lights within the old fire station on Bridge Street. The building, the former location of the Latta Presbyterian Church was built in 1858. Now the little chapel is coming back to life with theatre and song! It was Dollie Fowler's creative idea to restore Freedom Chapel into a dynamic, interactive, historical theatre attraction. In addition to acting, Dollie has also fulfilled the roles of Director and Producer in many productions. She has also written two shows of her own, "Amish Vows in Paradise" and "Amish Family Christmas" for FCDT. Dollie has been an active member of the theatre community for many years. She was a founding member of the Ephrata Performing Arts Center, as well as President and Board Member. Dollie was the Director of Main Stage and received the EPAC Lifetime Achievement Award. Also she has served as Director of Group Sales and actress for the Rainbow Dinner Theatre.

As a husband and wife team, Dollie and Lionel have more than 30 years' combined experience in the hospitality and entertainment industry. They used this knowledge to restore the aging chapel and created a new theatrical venue! Freedom Chapel Dinner Theatre supports Christiana's long range revitalization plans while also preserving the chapel's historical identity and charm.Freedom Chapel Dinner Theatre showcases both original plays and well-known Broadway hits. It opened it's doors in April 2003 with "The Christiana Treason Trials of 1851". The unassuming town of Christiana, along with the ambiance of the unique, 19th century Presbyterian chapel, provides the perfect backdrop for that show, which describes "The Christiana Riot" of September 11, 1851.Before the show, enjoy a relaxing dining experience in a family-oriented atmosphere.
