Mission:
The Fulton Opera House Foundation is a not-for-profit public charity that exists to engage the public with exceptional theatre experiences that honor, preserve, and extend the Fulton’s role as a National Historic Landmark.
This mission is accomplished through the following programs:
Fulton Theatre:
A professional regional theatre company nurturing the mind and soul of the community through a season of plays designed uniquely for today’s Lancaster audience and impacting the national theatre community by commissioning and producing world premieres and re-imagined works of note. We produce seven Premier Series productions, as well as four Family Theatre Series productions each season. Both series are available as subscription packages.
Education and Outreach:
The Fulton is committed to a variety of education and outreach activities, which include:
- The Fulton Academy of Theatre, a year-round program of classes for adults and youth exploring the tools of theatre making and the wonders of creative expression.
- Numerous workshops and residencies in the region’s schools, such as Neighborhood Bridges, in partnership with the celebrated Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis.
- Deeply discounted student matinee performances, which have introduced tens of thousands of young people throughout the region to the art of live theatre.
- A deep and long-standing commitment to providing accessibility services, making theatre as accessible as possible to the underserved in our community. These services include, but are not limited to: Pay-What-You-Want performances, providing American Sign Language interpretation, Open Captioning and Spanish translation services at certain performances, as well as assistive listening devices available for all performances.
