In 1948, GPT's first show, Clarence, was produced in a local high school. Since 1962, our productions have been staged at the beautiful Fries Auditorium at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. We take great pride in the high degree of theatrical excellence that we achieve show after show, but above all, we always have fun onstage and backstage. Our productions come to life at 315 Fisher Road, a turn-of-the-century boarding house completely rehabbed from top to bottom. You'll find ample rehearsal and meeting space, a fully equipped scenery workshop, costume shop, prop storage and kitchen. GPT volunteers can always be found here, putting the finishing touches on one of our many productions, workshops, social or charitable events. Community involvement makes GPT volunteers special. Family picnics, children's holiday parties, participating in the Grosse Pointe Thanksgiving Parade, awarding college scholarships to local students, donating to charitable organizations and needy families throughout the area; in addition to providing affordable, live theatre, these are just a few of the good works we do for our community. Grosse Pointe Theatre welcomes all theater lovers who are interested in becoming part of this dynamic and excellent Community Theatre family. Many opportunities exist for off-stage as well as on-stage
