Mystique Theater is the concept of Terry Ray Commons who is the owner and operator. The idea came from a desire to offer a classy, fine-dining experience with wholesome entertainment presented to appeal to adults yet appropriate for the entire family. Terry, who is an award winning professional magician, performs at the dinner shows in our elaborate Chamber of Shadows dinner theater which is an intimate setting for small groups. He presents his larger scaled Vegas-style illusions during the holiday galas in Mystique Grand Hall Theater, a larger more traditional theater that seats nearly 200 people for dinner. During the balance of the year Mystique produces the finest entertainment in Southeast Idaho ranging from vocal concerts, musical theater and other variety acts. The facility also host numerous events such as weddings, reunions, seminars and special event banquets.
Mystique Theater had its beginning in 1990 when Terry Commons combined his performance of close up magic with a haunted mansion theme for a Halloween season presentation. It was extremely popular and was the catalyst for further development of the idea. On October 24th 1997, Mystique Chamber Mystery Theater opened at 4876 Yellowstone Avenue in Chubbuck, Idaho. The intimate chamber seated 16 guests and combined an elaborately themed atmosphere. Terry's award winning magic and an elegant formal seven course dinner served at the hands of a maid and butler, delighted every guest. That chamber went dark on December 30, 2000, 1,276 dinner shows later.
The new facility opened May 14, 2001 and expanded the original chamber concept to a more versatile space, seating no more than 20 people. It presents an intense, interactive entertainment experience. Mystique's Grand Hall Theater serves as the most elaborately decorated theater in the state. State-of-the-art sound and lighting allow for professional and competitive theatrical endevors. With theater style seating for 300 people or dinner seating for nearly 200, there is not a bad seat in the theater.
Mystique is equipped with a 1,400 square foot kitchen that serves the Chamber of Shadows Theater, and Grand Hall Theater! Our executive chef oversees every detail of this intimate experience from the personable and competent service to his fabulously presented entree's.
The Mystique concept continues to evolve. We are currently refreshing our interior with a new, even grander decor. We continue to augment our technical support, and creative service increasing our ability to exceed expectations. Additionally our expertise in the food and entertainment industry has been recognized in local and national competition.
