Spotlight Theatre
Mission Statement
To offer an artistic dedicated venue to showcase the talent of local professional actors. To focus the spotlight on a variety of topics, ideas and circumstances allowing us to explore different viewpoints and utilize materials in all genres.
About Us
Spotlight Theatre was founded by Pamela Reckamp in January 2001 to provide an artistic, dedicated venue for the well-trained St. Louis actor. We hire both union and non-union professionals to work on all facets of each production.
Each season the spotlight will focus on a topic, idea, or circumstance allowing us to explore different viewpoints and utilize materials in all genres. Past themes have been women, marriage, hell, and overtures. In the 2005-2006 season Spotlight Theatre will be focusing on its T.E.E.N. (Theatre Educating and Entertaining Now) programming. Mainstage shows will not be produced in the 2005-2006 season.
T.E.E.N. is beginning its third season as the educational outreach component of Spotlight Theatre. Programming offers issue-oriented productions which are topically relevant and age-appropriate for a 12 to 18 year-old demographic. The 2006 show Do Over, is a commissioned work from local actor/playwright Judi Mann. Do Over will tour St. Louis metropolitan area schools in February and March 2006 and receive two public performances in February 2006 at the Regional Arts Commission Cultural Center.
