About Us: Formally opened on October 27, 1938, The State Theater arose from the ashes of the old Majestic Theater, which was long the city's principal playhouse. The exterior was a cream and maroon color scheme in tile and stucco with a handsome neon sign bearing the name of the theater. Original seating capacity of 650 on the main floor.
