Tampa Repertory Theatre

The Tampa Repertory theatre presents plays, old and new, with an emphasis on American drama, in productions that are innovative, provocative, and classic. We create high quality theatre designed to attract a multi-generational, culturally diverse audience. TampaRep is an incorporated professional, nonprofit 501(c)(3) theatre company serving the Tampa area since 2011.

TampaRep’s first production occured in July, 2011 - Alcestis, a Greek tragedy by Euripides. During our first year, we produced Cold Storage and celebrated our one-year anniversary with a production of A Streetcar Named Desire. TRT2, TampaRep’s incubator company, also presented three productions: Musings of a “Postmodern” Romantic, Tartuffe, and Tampa Wrights: One-Act Plays by Tampa Playwrights.   Since then, we have continued to present a mix of plays, from the classic (Hamlet) to the contemporary (White People),  along with our American focus, notably with a series of plays by Tennessee Williams:  Streetcar, The Glass Menagerie, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.  The work of TRT2 continues, as well, with their focus on newer, edgier far, including the ongoing series, Tampa Wrights - new one-act plays by writers in the Tampa area.  It’s what we do.  TampaRep: Innovative. Provocative. Classic.
