About us:

Why all the celebrations? Because Grapevine has a lot to celebrate! It's the oldest settlement in Tarrant County, dating back to 1844 when Texas was still an independent nation. In October of that year, General Sam Houston and other Commissioners from the Republic of Texas gathered at Tah-Wah-Karro Creek, also known as Grape Vine Springs, to meet with leaders from ten Indian nations. This meeting ended with the signing of a treaty promising "peace, friendship and commerce" between the parties and opened up the area to settlement. In time, the town became known as Grapevine because of its location near Grape Vine Springs on the Grape Vine Prairie which got their names from the wild Mustang grapes that grew freely throughout the area. It's from those auspicious beginnings that the town grew. In 1890 Grapevine had only about 800 residents. Today the population is over 50,000 and growing, yet the historical downtown area on and around Main Street retains a charm reminiscent of days gone by. That makes it the perfect place to celebrate Texas' Wild West past at the Texas Star Dinner Theater.
