About

The Theatre presents a wide variety of professional musical and dramatic performances, usually on weekends, and often for one or two performances only. In addition to performing arts events presented by the Theatre, the Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community (RAAC), presents films. Community events are also held at the Theatre from time to time. Please see the current season for a complete list of upcoming events.

A Quaint and Intimate View

The Theatre seats 213 and the town's population is below 200. So The Theatre is fortunate in being able to draw audiences from the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, Charlottesville, and the whole of Northern Virginia and beyond. Many of its programs are presented for just one performance. In 2004, the Theatre purchased a new grand piano, a Kawai 6'6" RX-5 Artist Grand. Excellent acoustics and an intimate atmosphere have made it possible to attract professional performers and appreciative audiences.
